Global Semiconductor Dry Etching Market Analysis
In this report, the Global Semiconductor Dry Etching Market has been segmented by Geography. Chemical dry etching refers to the removal of material, typically a masked pattern of semiconductor material, by exposing the material to a bombardment of ions that dislodge portions of the material from the exposed surface. Semiconductor dry etching equipment are actually used in semiconductor fabs, such as ccp (capacitively coupled plasma), magnetron rie (magnetron reactive ion etching), ecr (electron cyclotron resonance) plasma, and icp (inductively coupled plasma). Types of dry etching include vapor phase etching, sputter etching, and reactive ion etching (rie). Disadvantages of dry etching includes slow etch rates, low selectivity, and trench effects caused by reflected ions. Dry etching anisotropic is usually an anisotropic process in which the momentum of ion species accelerating towards the substrate in combination with a masking process is used to physically remove and etch the target materials. Dry etching process in mems can split in three separate classes called reactive ion etching (rie), sputter etching, and vapor phase etching.
